The proud mama....

Milo started racing BMX a couple of weeks ago. Our cousins have been racing for about a year and we thought we'd take Milo out there to try it out. He is pretty awesome...he isn't afraid of it at all even if he crashes. It fits him well. I never saw myself as the type of mom that would hang out at the "track", but every Tuesday and Thursday night you can find me there chasing Makay around the bleachers. I even jumped a fence to rescue Milo from a major wipe-out. He was signed up for soccer, but we are going to back out because he would much rather race bikes and it's a little much for a 5 year old to have 4 sporting events each week.
His first race, he took 4th in the first heat, 1st in the second heat and 5th in the finals. He could have taken 4th in the finals, but at the last hill, he tripped up a little and had to put his foot down and #5 came flying by. Milo was so excited to get his "5th place trophy." The funny thing is, he needs a new bike and the reason he's going to get it before it before Christmas is due to the ego of the parents. He could definately do better than 5th place, if he had the right kind of bike. He's pretty cute out there racing. The announcer must like his name because every time he'd pass the tower, the guy would make a comment about his ride. "Here comes Milo Mendenhall...he's working it" I love it on practice night when he's lined up at the gate with a bunch of 17 year olds, it always makes me smile.

The Breakup

Josh started a new job this week, which resulted in a Break-up from his former Stampin-up work wives. They were great to him. One of them grilled him a mean quesadilla from time to time, most of them made sure that he was trying the latest in trendy restaurants, and had knowledge of the latest fashion trends. He kept up to speed with the latest in texting/IM terminology, and can help me put together an outfit like a pro. I am going to miss the work wives. Hopefully their influence lasts. I am now left buying paper crafting products at full price again...but I have a pretty good stockpile that should get me by for a long time. The only problem is that it might go out of style before I get a chance to use it.

Best of intentions

Isn't there an old Travis Tritt song about me called Best Intentions? I really want to do homework with the kids, mow the lawn, pull the weeds, trim the ginormous vine on my porch, help the neighbors move, clean the house, fold the laundry, pick raspberries with the kids, get out the pool, update our business accounting, file the quarterly sales taxes, take a shower, comb my hair (and maybe even put some mousse in), sign Milo up for Soccer, register the car, return phone calls, replace the water heater in a rental, have quality time with Josh, babysit my nephews, and update my blog....but........only about 10% of this stuff will get done today. There was a time when I could whip through it all...but not today. It is only 10AM and I already need a nap, and I am hoping with everything in me that the killer heartburn from yesterday doesn't make another appearance.

Success...

Our little birdies hatched, they are cute. If you rustle the leaves around them they stretch their necks up for food. I can't tell how many of them there are, but there is at least 1 egg that is not hatched. I can't get a good picture for some reason, they just come out looking like a big ball of fuzz.
PS....I convinced my Dr to move up my Due Date to Nov 10 instead of the 13. That is what the measurements on my ultrasound were showing. It helps a ton with avoiding landing on the the other 2 november birthdays in our family. If I can get induced a week early that puts her on the 3rd and I am technically 22 weeks today instead of 21....but I'm not counting...at least not on most days.
