So Sad...

When I first noticed Boozer a couple of years ago I thought who is this punk? But after we took Milo to a Jazz game when he was 1 and he came home saying Boozer for the rest of the year, he started to grow on me. And even though he sucked this playoff season, he is still my favorite Jazz player. My Jazz fan ship started with Grandpa Johnson 5.5 years ago. We used to live with them in their huge house in St. George when we first got married, and Grandpa always had to watch the Jazz games, and it turned into a fun little "family night" for us. Then my dad started getting season tickets with "the Dinner" up on the 6th floor and my heart was sold from then on. I always look forward to getting invited to the Jazz games by my parents and I especially love the gourmet food and fun. (not to mention the jalapeno nachos that we get at half time) Then when playoff time comes around I'll even watch them on the TV. There is somthing that gets me all excited to have the extra competition of the playoffs. It kind of reminds me of my old days of YW basketball when we'd make it to region...(ok maybe not, but that would be cool if it did)
Needless to say, I'm not much of a sports buff but I do love the Jazz and am very sad the playoffs are over. I am going to toast to "let's try again next season...here, here" I bought my mom a Korver T-shirt for mothers day, and I might even go get me a Boozer Jersey to wear around the neighborhood. No, seriously you'd never catch me wearing a Jazz jersey around the neighborhood. This one's for you mom....

Woa Bessie!

My name is Kristen and I am a shop-a-holic. I have been telling myself "you can always have that later" for 3 years now and finally with Josh being out of school, the flood gates are wide open and I am ready to shop! Good thing that we had a fabulous trip (I am trying to figure out my memory card to post pics...stay tuned) so I could curb the craving. All I can say is...now we're home, it is time to hit the brakes. I do have a couple of birthday/shower gifts to buy, but I'm going to try to find a good sale.
Update on the kiddies...Milo is almost swimming by himself. He still likes his floaties, but he'll be free in the water by the end of summer. Now we just need to get him water skiing. He loves to work in the house, especially when he gets his hands on some tools. Here is a picture of the latest and greatest craze - taping.
Makay got his first tooth in Florida (5/4/08) and today is his 6 month birthday. He is almost an independent sitter-upper, and he can roll over from his front to his back. Makay smiles at everybody that walks past him and he is always making people happy. He loves cereal mixed with apple juice and I have started sneaking in veggies between cereal bites. I am on a mission to break the no veggie diet that Josh is so proud of living. His brother Adam actually said about his wife, "Tricia grew up on this kind of food....veggies and stuff" Are you kidding me? Veggies and stuff? Rumor has it that Adam grew up on Ding Dongs and Twinkies, so I guess that isn't suprising that veggies seem like foreign food to him.

Florida

Our plane left Wednesday morning and the adventure began. We bought the tickets months ago and, at the time, the flight left at 10:45 AM. So we arrived at 9:15 and thought we had plenty of time. Well after we got through security, Marcus checked the screen and it said that our flight was closed (the departure time had moved up 45 minutes) and all of a sudden we started to hear our names being called over the intercom. So needless to say we started booking it to the gate where we found a whole plane of passengers waiting for us to gate check all our baby gear and scurry into our seats. At least the kids were good on the way there so we didn't get jumped when we arrived in Florida. We got to our resort in Daytona and it was beautiful. We went to Bubba Gumps for dinner and went swimming after. Thursday morning everybody was at the beach and Makay and I got down there the boys had decided to go para sailing..."the boys" were Josh, Marcus, and Milo. So, stupid mom that I am, says "ok" but I had to go on the boat to take pictures of the event. The boat ride out to the para sailing boat was scary enough for me and I was ready to get back to land with my 2 year old. Nobody on the boat supported me in my nervousness and soon enough Milo was soaring 1200 feet above the ocean hanging by a small rope. Seriously I was so excited to see that rope being cranked back in. I actually did it a couple of days later and, what was I thinking. Please don't call DCFS on me. Jackie and Lindsey (my cousins) came down from Georgia that night and we spent the next day at Universal studios and the kiddie rides were a little bit of a let down for Milo since he had gone para sailing the day before. He kept wanting to ride the Hulk, so we found him some scary big boy rides to go on that didn't require a height limit.
Our scuba trip got canceled for Saturday because of a current and poor visibility, so we spent our money on couples massages in the resort spa. I have been begging Josh to do that since we got married and now he is sold. I should have warned him that they usually rub your buttocks...he wasn't ready for that.
The rest of the time was spent camped out at our spot on the beach or pool, we did make it to sacrament meeting on Sunday morning and that was nice. It was a great vacation and a much needed break. Makay cried most of the way home on the plane...lets just say that the effects of the massage were quickly reversed during that 4.5 hour flight. Luckily we came home to nice weather and a clean house. Now I just have to deal with Milo's potty training set-back and the flakes in my hair from my part being sunburned every day.
