Seriously...I just got home from St. George, with the blue skies, warm sun, a beautiful condo, steps from a beautiful warm sunny pool, steps away from my favorite bike ride of all time, next to an awesome 4-wheeling trail, around the corner from the sand dunes and a beautiful lake. What more could a girl ask for? I was so bummed out to come home to my reality that I have been struggling with for a while. Plus my big bro pointed out several times that Patrick Dempsey isn't going to come and send me on an unlimited shopping trip with his credit card in New York any time soon so I'd better get used to it. Hence....Reality Bites. Josh always laughs at people that try to live like they are in a movie, but why not...people in movies don't have to pay the bill after the shopping trip...they just get to go. People in movies don't have to suck in to fit into jeans, they just fit. People in movies get to drive awesome cars and have beautiful mansions perfectly decorated...and they don't even have to fill them up with gas or clean them. Little birdies come and clean for them. Why wouldn't we want to live in fantasy land.
But on the other hand, people in movies don't get to keep their babies forever, they don't stay married forever, they don't even eat real food..it could be plastic for all we know. I really am grateful for what I have, I just like to be in lala land every once in a while. Anybody want to buy a Snowie?

I'm so with you on the reality bites thing. If it were any better I'd be feeling total comfort with this watermelon attached to my abdomen and the scale would be in the 120s. Oh, and a cold front wouldn't be moving in tomorrow night. I got your message and I'll be there on Thursday.
So I have signed my parents up to leave comments, but i think we need to do a couple lessons first. She told me she wants you in her family, especially for all the gifts you will bring us! She loves you!! Glad you are doing well. Don't worry... walks to the snowie are soon to come!
What a dream. We were so close to going to St. George with my fam this weekend too but I had to work! I was so bummed. Especially after reading your post. REALITY does bite...well sometimes...sometimes it's great too. Right now were going through a "bites" stage too. Hang in there!
hey guys, we just started this blog thingy and we saw your link on wes & tami's blog. ours is www.larsenparty.blogspot.com. you may or may not notice a little surprise on our page...

Hey, so why is it Patrick Dempsey? (I wouldn't complain for that one, either.)
It was fun to see you guys. And I think Phil is a little crazy about Flight of the Conchords now. He sent "Business Times" as spam.
Hey! Southern Utah truly is the best. I really enjoyed this entry but most of all the part about keeping our families forever! you are great!
Hey reality bites in sunny California sometimes too, but is usually a little better than the cold and snow. You always make me laugh when I read your blog. Whether or not you are intending to!
yep i'm all about doing my part to replenish and multiply the earth. not that i don't like my job...it's just not the same as a career that i care about. paul, on the other hand, is on his second internship for his career in public relations, which we're way stoked about.
I am just getting ready to post that the grumpy girl has left the building on my blog. What's with the cloudy weather again though? Miss you and hope you are doing great. What about the Snowie? You gotta be loving that about now. Oh and by the way, I bag tagged you. Check it out on my blog.
That was quite the vacation! it sucked more than ever to come home.. It was beautiful.. But you do have a trip to Florida to look forward too.. just think of white sandy beachs and graduation!! I am still trying to figure out how I can sneak on that trip.
you have such a creative and bloggy way of putting things. I completely identify with that. Lately I have been having those sort of thoughts big time. Half the time I take pride in being thrifty and working hard to do all my tasks jsut right. ...but lately I honestly seem to believe I am too good for them! I told Danny last night that I suck at being poor and I am sick of it. Umm, hello self, I am NOT poor! but I seem to feel that way. All the pep talks to myself about orphans in Romania don't seem to be working. I mean, really, if you think you are pathetic, talk to me--I am much worse! I need Phil to put me in my place so bad!
So if Patrick isn't coming to your house, does that mean he's not coming to mine? Dang...
It doesn't hurt to dream a little, though, does it?
